you should know before checking a vehicle.
Answers about VIN, data coverage, checks, reports, payment and account.
What is a valid VIN?
A VIN is the 17-character vehicle identification number. It does not contain the letters I, O or Q. A formally valid VIN does not guarantee that usable history information is available for the vehicle.
Is the same data available for every vehicle?
No. Data scope and coverage depend on the vehicle, country, data provider, reporting system and time, among other factors.
Does no damage entry automatically mean accident-free?
No. The absence of an entry does not prove that damage or an accident never occurred. A report is an additional source of information and does not replace an inspection.
What information can a report contain?
Depending on data availability, a report may include mileage records, damage and events, historical images, auctions and listings, technical data and other vehicle information.
What happens if no usable vehicle-history data is available?
For paid checks, the rules shown during checkout apply. The vehicle-check page explains how a check without usable history data is handled.
Ist die Fahrzeughistorienprüfung ein Abo?
No. Vehicle checks are purchased individually or in packages. There is no automatically renewing vehicle-check membership.
Where can I find purchased checks and reports?
After logging in, you can find available checks, saved reports, invoices and usage history in your personal vehicle-history area.
Can I reopen a saved report?
Yes. A successfully saved report can be reopened in the customer area without automatically using another check.
Ersetzt der Bericht eine Fahrzeugbesichtigung?
No. Motavio does not make a purchase decision. Check the vehicle, VIN, documents and technical condition yourself or with professional assistance.
How can I get help?
You can reach Motavio directly through Contact or the Help Center. For individual questions about your account, report or a check, send a general inquiry.
